My greatest fear

I suppose would be to lose my mind.
I depend on it a lot.
I walk about with all this stuff in my head.
I rarely write anything down just for the sake of memory
passwords
all up here.
running balance sheet on the checking account…
all up here
the bills and when they’re due
all up here
appointments and projects
Yep, you guessed it.
It just seems to work best for me.
I had a certain coworker
who irritated me to no end
because he had to write everything down.
ever the detail man
he made everything a procedure
and his computer was covered with post-its.
look man if you just used your brain a little;
it’d get stronger.
I promise.
but he is a military man
and you know how they are
all hell would break loose if he should forget a thing
and he carried that everywhere he went
come on now who would you trust?

So, yes back to the subject at hand
definitely my greatest fear would be to lose my mind
that is probably why Syd Barrett is so scary to me
he reformatted his hard drive
and that didn’t bode well
it caused his operating system to go awry
resulting in a permanent system malfunction.
